Retro news

Welcome to Retrofest!

Remember when you stayed in to watch "Top of the Pops" so you could chat about it at school the next day; a "Marathon" wasn't a 26 mile race but a large, sticky, peanut and chocolate cholestoral bar of joy; "Friends Reunited" meant playing with your school mates at the weekend without being interrupted by your parents ringing you on your mobile phone to check that you are all right; When you watched a programme that encouraged you to ".... get out of your bed and do something less boring instead"; Chris Tarrant was a kids TV presenter and Sally James was the fantasy of teenage boys and their dads; Keith Chegwin kept his clothes on and we all sang the theme tune to "Cheggars Plays Pop"; When pop was cool and not cool at the same time; the school disco was exactly that, a school disco, not a party night for lusty middle aged men and women;

If you can remember all this and more, then welcome to Retrofest.

After a very successful first year, we are back with yet another festival of great music, better beer, nicer food, a field with more to do in than last year and a new location. As we have moved to Strathclyde Country Park we even have more space for you campers out there. We can also accommodate people with campervans (hurrah we hear you shout!).

Stewards and Volunteers

It will be hard work but good fun. Please CLICK HERE to download an application form. If you are CRB checked, even better!
